The Younger Member Forum of ASCE was developed to encourage the professional development of engineers 35 years of age or younger by identifying issues of interest to younger engineers in order to facilitate the development of positions/responses to such issues. The participation in the Younger Member Forum also helps to foster the interaction of younger members at the Section and Branch level.
Volunteering for the Disney Marathon
Each year the Younger Member Forum organizes and partcipates in service acitivites in the Orlando community. One of our biggest events is our annual Engineer for a Day which members organize to give local high school juniors and seniors an opportunity to visit various engineering firms to help gain a better understanding of what engineers do. Volunteers also participate in science fairs and local community activities on a monthly basis.
Social activities are also organized to encourage networking of our diverse membership. Happy hours are planned as well as attending Magic and Predator games. When the weather is nice, canoeing and beach trips are arranged. If you would like to become involved please visit our web site at http://www.eastcentralymf.com.
