Hello my fellow engineers and ASCE East Central Branch (ECB) members!
I’m very excited to begin my role as President of our branch. Our branch has a tradition of being one of the best in the country and this is all because of our amazing members. I am honored to be a part of such a great group of individuals! I challenge each of you to make an impact in your community by using your profession as a tool. The East Central Branch offers many opportunities for you to do so!
Thank you to everyone who attended our Officer Installation Luncheon on September 29th! We were so thrilled to have the Honorable Teresa Jacobs as our speaker. It was also a pleasure to have ASCE National President Kathy Caldwell speak to the attendees on the efforts of ASCE’s on a national level! In addition President Caldwell installed our new board officers for 2011-2012.
I would like to welcome our new board members! Chris Rader as President Elect, Roland Raymundo as Vice President, Alex Moncaleano as Treasurer and Mark Ellard as Secretary. Our new Committee Chairs include Alex Caso (Structural-SEI), Frank Caruso (Transportation-TD&I), Richard Earp (Water Resources) and Danni Hirsch (YMF). Sunil Sundaram (Geotechnical), Truong Trinh (Engineering Management), Ken Morgan (Membership and Golf Tournament), Kevin Francoforte (Awards), Jeff Earhart (Education), Trillian Baldassari (Special Projects) Nancy Cortes (Newsletter Editor) and Jeremy Huckeba (Webmaster) are all returning as chairs this year.
The month of October is a busy one! The ASCE National Conference is being held in Memphis, TN on Oct 20-22. The Water Resource Group is hosting its monthly luncheon on Increasing Stormwater Revenue by Isolating “Fixed Costs” Funding Components on Thursday, October 20th and our Annual Transportation CIP Luncheon is being held on Tuesday, October 25th. Please be sure to get your RSVPs in for these luncheons!
I look forward to the upcoming year and hope to see you out at one of our upcoming activities.
